Jamaica Stock Exchange Best Practices Award for Best Performing Company

The Best Practices awards were established by the Jamaica Stock Exchange in 2004 with the aim of recognizing publicly listed companies who uphold best practices standards. Over the years Carreras has maintained a track record of strong performance in this competition.

The company copped the prize from a field of over 50 listed companies for its outstanding performance in enhancing shareholder value in areas of return on capital, improved profitability and direct return on shareholdings.

This award exemplifies the commitment of the Carreras team to enabling sustainability through increasing growth, productivity and shareholder value.

Jamaica Employers Federation Top Small Employer of Choice Award

Excellence is a habit for our team members and Carreras consistently demonstrates exceptional commitment to the growth and development of all employees. For our leadership in this area, we received the Jamaica Employers’ Federation Top Small Employer of Choice Award for Jamaica for 2008. This prestigious award recognizes employers who score highest on a list of factors identified by employees in a survey conducted in 2008. The factors include learning opportunities, profitability, health & safety, good corporate image and treatment by management.

Responsibility (2008)

Carreras was the recipient of the Jamaica Employers Federation Award on CSR for 2008 through it’s “Voluntary integration of social and environmental concerns in the business operations and it’s interaction with stakeholders” as described by the International Organisation of Employers (IOF), the international parent body of the JEF.

Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) Award for Most Strategic Approach to CSR (2008)

Carreras was deemed to have a highly strategic approach to CSR, building it into the total business plan thus ensuring long-term business success and sustained contributions to society.
